Firth is recruiting for a Production Assistant who will provide support to the Production management team by assisting and co-ordinating the maintenance and optimisation of all production processes and records.
* Assisting with the planning of production on site with the plant production team.
* Ensuring record are completed and kept up to date
* Coordinating the ordering of safety and chemical supplies.
* Assisting with customer blend processing and ensuring blends are updated on AX.
* Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain risk assessments and plant procedures.
* Assisting with the close out of customer audit corrective actions.
* Liaising with all site staff to update and maintain COSHH assessments.
* Assisting in the maintenance of ISO 18001, 14001 and 9001 standards.
* Coordinating the training activities for all plant production employees.
* Assisting the plant production team with general site operational activities.
* Assisting the plant manager in dealing with any customer complaints and, in particular, helping to fully investigate and properly close out any issues.
* Assisting with the preparation for customer site visits, audits, and inspections of facilities where necessary.
* Carrying out trouble shooting projects with the plant production team to identify the reasons for specific problems and work with site management to resolve these.
* Maintain and register site PPE stocks and issue to staff
SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Previous administration experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing/production environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Must be numerate
* Strong IT skills
* Self-starter with ability to plan and manage workload
* Excellent organisational skills
* Positive attitude
* Attention to detail
* Flexible and adaptable
* Willingness to learn about the malting process
