Responsibilities for the Product Developer * Perform market research to identify key trends, customer preferences, and competitor insights to inform product development. * Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, procurement, and production, to ensure seamless product development and successful launches. * Develop new product recipes, taking into account ingredient functionality, cost, and nutritional requirements. * Partner with third-party manufacturers to ensure market-leading innovation and high-quality standards. * Manage and document product trials, both internally and with external suppliers or manufacturers. * Conduct in-depth product testing, including sensory analysis, shelf-life assessments, and nutritional evaluations. * Ensure accurate maintenance of product specifications, costings, and relevant documentation. * Keep informed of industry trends, new ingredients, and emerging technologies to drive cutting-edge product development. * Address and resolve technical challenges that arise during the product development process. * Provide ongoing support for post-launch production, ensuring a smooth process and performing follow-up evaluations. * Create packaging and design briefs that align with market demands and brand identity. * Coordinate and attend product photo shoots to capture high-quality visuals. * Contribute engaging content for social media and communications channels to promote new product offerings. Requirements for the Product Developer * 3+ years of experience in an NPD role, ideally in a brand or own-label environment. * Strong background in food, nutrition, and product development. * Proven success in launching new products from concept to market. * Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and other relevant software. * Hands-on experience with food manufacturing and development
