Salary: £100 - £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Are you an experienced and empathetic individual ready to support primary school students with SEMH needs?
If so, GSL Education are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and committed Primary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a nurturing school environment in Chesterfield.
Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to pupils with SEMH.
Foster emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills through structured support.
Work closely with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
Assist in adapting resources and lessons to meet individual needs.
Implement behaviour support plans and promote a calm, inclusive learning space.
Travel between school sites or to off-site provision as needed.
Requirements:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs in a primary setting.
A full UK driving licence.
A caring, patient, and resilient nature.
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young learners.
Confident in de-escalating behaviour and encouraging self-expression.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
