Jackson Hogg is delighted to be partnering with a North East based manufacturing business in their search for a Plant Manager on a FTC basis.
About the Plant Manager position
The Plant Manager has accountability for all aspects of operations associated with the manufacturing facility. They are accountable for delivering high Environmental, Safety and Health standards, all required production to align with customer sales demand, and full budget accountability for both variable and fixed costs. They are also accountable for developing and delivering longer term strategy for the site to ensure ongoing business success.
Principal accountabilities of the Plant Manager
Ensuring the safe operation of the facility in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements to maintain the site’s license to Operate. Drive compliance on site with all corporate standards and site procedures.
Develop a Zero Harm culture on site, driving continuous improvement in EHS and Process Safety performance.
Delivery of business expectations of site performance:
* Production capability in line with business strategy and customer sales demand meeting all quality expectations
* Management of site fixed and variable cost budgets
* Management of raw material supplies and inventory levels
* Management and delivery of the site Capital Investment
Lead and develop the site team to ensure the site is appropriately resourced to deliver all EHS and process safety requirements, the business expectations and all improvement programmes.
Lead the interface with all key external stakeholders to uphold site and business reputation.
Act as the Duty Manager/Main Incident Controller for the site in order to provide appropriate technical and managerial support in the event of an incident or issue outside of normal working hours.
Knowledge, experience and skills required of the Plant Manager
Degree qualification preferably engineering or alternative technical discipline.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge and experience of hazardous manufacturing environments and the related safety legislation.
Broad functional experience – manufacturing, operations, health and safety, finance, human resources, and communication.
Excellent leadership skills – planning, organizing, commanding, communicating and motivating capabilities
