Passive Fire Protection Engineer
UK wide travel with a focus on the Midlands & Northern England. Overnight stays as & when required. Full time permanent Monday – Friday.
My client is a market leading provider of specialist services for smoke damper testing and surveys, fire compartmentation surveys, fire door inspections, ventilation ductwork and kitchen extract cleaning.
They have an extensive portfolio delivering major contracts to the NHS, prison services, hospitals, universities and facility management companies nationally and due to exponential business growth, they are expanding their field-based Fire Protection team and hiring experienced Fire Protection Engineers!
The role of Passive Fire Protection Engineer:
* Undertake site inspections and surveys relating to passive fire protection such as fire stopping, facades, fire doors, cavity barriers, ductwork, fire dampers and fire-resistant coatings
* Take a hands-on and proactive approach to identifying defects and other non-compliances, photographing and reporting these using Boris software
* Ensure the passive fire protection within buildings is installed in accordance with certified details, fire test reports and manufacturers requirements
* Experience in installation / application of Intumescent coatings, firestopping systems, cavity barriers, structural boarding etc
* Remedial works
* Carry out other services as and when required
The requirements for the Passive Fire Protection Engineer:
* Circa 3-5 years of experience in the fire protection business carrying out fire compartmentation surveys and fire stopping as a Fire Protection Engineer, Fire Prevention Engineer, Fire Stopper or equivalent
* Sound understanding of electrical fire systems design and industry regulations including BS: 9999:2017, HTM 05-02, HTM 05-03 and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
* Developed IT skills (eg Excel, Word etc)
* FIRAS Accredited
* FSIDip
* NVQ Level 2 Passive Fire Protection or qualified by experience
* FDIS Certified (Desirable)
* CSCS skills card
* SSSTS Certified (Desirable)
* Successful applicant must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check
* Full & ideally clean UK driving licence
