About the role – 12 month FTC Paralegal (maternity cover)
To contribute to the effective operation of the Legal and Company Secretarial department by supporting the Commercial Contracts Lawyer and Group Company Secretary with the review, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, providing high level contractual advice, dealing with general legal queries, conducting legal research and ensuring the Group’s overall compliance with statutory, governance and stock exchange requirements.
What sort of person are we looking for?
Law Degree OR First degree and postgraduate law qualification(s) (LPC/GDL) or CILEX qualification
Previous experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in an equivalent role
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
High level self-management skills
Excellent team working skills
Ability to operate at a variety of levels with internal and external clients/stakeholders
Ability to understand, communicate and work to deadlines by using high level prioritisation skills
Ability to work flexibly due to business needs

Key Responsibilities
Negotiation / assessment of terms and conditions with suppliers, customers, licensors, licensees and landlords etc., including but not limited to ensuring protection of the Group’s intellectual property.
Data Protection compliance.
Group compliance with all relevant legislation especially, but not exclusively the Companies Acts and AIM Rules for Companies.
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating the Group’s contracts with suppliers, customers, licensors, licensees, landlords etc.
Managing and developing good working relationships with colleagues, advisors and external contacts to ensure provision of an effective and efficient corporate administration service for the Group.
Assisting the Group Company Secretary and Deputy Company Secretary to ensure compliance with Company Law, relevant legislation and Stock Exchange regulations.
Maintenance of statutory and regulatory records as may be required by the Group Company Secretary.
