Are you an experienced and innovative Packaging Professional seeking an exciting new challenge with a leading Fresh Food supplier?
We are looking for a Packaging Development Manager to lead packaging innovation, development, and sustainability strategies across a multi-site operation. Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging solutions meet both customer needs and environmental goals, while executing the packaging strategy and implementing cost-effective packaging initiatives across this prominent Fresh Produce group.
Role Overview
Oversee the end-to-end packaging development process, from initial concept to final launch, while ensuring the alignment of environmental, commercial, and operational goals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge packaging solutions that meet both market and regulatory demands.
Packaging Development Manager Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute packaging strategies focused on innovation and sustainability
* Build and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers and waste management partners
* Oversee the end-to-end packaging development process, ensuring compliance with food safety, ethical, and environmental standards
* Lead cross-functional teams to launch new packaging designs aligned with product and marketing strategies, ensuring timely market delivery
* Evaluate the impact of packaging innovations on production, recyclability, and cost-efficiency
* Identify and drive continuous improvements in packaging processes
* Research and propose innovative packaging technologies/materials to enhance shelf life and consumer appeal
* Implement cost-saving measures in packaging materials
Packaging Development Manager Key Requirements
* Exposure to Food Retail expectations and parameters
* Strong experience in Food Packaging Innovation & Development
* Ability to build and maintain crucial relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
