Job Description
Nursery Chef – Gerrards Cross
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Chef / Cook to join our team in our state-of-the-art Gerrards Cross montessori setting. The role involves preparing fresh, nutritious, and balanced meals for up to 80 children daily. This is an exciting opportunity for those with a passion for cooking looking for a contract role for an initial period of 10 months (with the potential to turn permanent thereafter).
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook healthy, child-friendly meals following provided menus and recipes.
* Ensure all meals meet dietary requirements and allergen guidelines.
* Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
* Clean up the kitchen and dining areas after meal preparation and service.
* Inform management of stock levels and follow food safety regulations.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar catering, kitchen or nursery cook role.
* Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2 Food Hygiene minimum).
* Passion for healthy cooking and child nutrition.
What We Provide:
* Full training on menus, recipes, ingredients, and food preparation.
* All necessary ingredients, apparatus, and equipment to be supplied by the nursery.
Hours:
* Monday to Friday (excl. bank holidays) from 9am to 4pm
Compensation:
* Salary of £12.50 - 14.00++ per hour (dependent on experience)
