At Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics, we are looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician to join our team.
You'll be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, productive maintenance systems and processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and World Class Manufacturing (WCM)/operations.
Industrial Ceramics manufacture a variety of refractory products and materials for worldwide applications in metallurgical processing, high temperature processing, chemical, temperature and abrasion resistant applications.
The role is based on site in Rainford, and the working hours are (Apply online only) Mon to Thurs, and (Apply online only) Friday
What we're looking for:
Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience (working knowledge of PLCs with ability to fault find and re-programme as required)
Familiar with safety requirements e.g. Isolation and Permit's to Work
Using and interpreting engineering data with the ability to read and fault find from Engineering drawings
Completed an Engineering apprenticeship.
Possess up to date Current Edition Electrical Installations certificate or equivalent (or working towards it)
Experience within an industrialised manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement would be advantageous What you will be doing:
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform maintenance tasks including, but not limited to electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities and complete planned maintenance forms.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to supervision.
Carry out maintenance and continual improvement of all existing plant equipment and services to the highest possible standard allowing the Company to safely achieve quality and performance targets, by preventative maintenance techniques and minimising breakdown downtime.
