Job Description

Are you a qualified Microbiologist looking for an opportunity to elevate your career? Randstad are currently looking for an experienced Microbiologist to start as soon as possible for an ongoing position based at Coca Cola Edmonton. Pay per annum: 30k Two Week Shift Pattern; Monday - Thursday 8 hours, with 8 hours on the Sunday, then 8 hours Monday- Friday. Your responsibilities will include: Becoming a key member of the site food safety team Performing and monitoring food safety related microbiological tests Identifying trends and opportunities for improvement Work consistently with operational teams to continually develop quality performance and compliance Review Food Safety performance and compliance against existing plans Support the launch of new sensitive products by execution and coordination of microbiology checks Complete microbiological analysis as part of the investigation into complaints to identify the (potential) source/root cause to enable resolution Co-ordinate and support site validation activities relating to facility, equipment, hygiene and CIP (Clean in Place) systems Provide routine and ad-hoc microbiological reports, monitor performance and initiate relevant actions Routinely review microbiology testing data to identify adverse trends Manage and maintain condition and supply of microbiology testing equipment, consumables and laboratory facilities Ensure efficiency of laboratory operations by identifying and exploiting new technologies Provide basic microbiological training to other roles to expand site capabilities and flexibility Perform internal audits, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) audits and compliance checks Support other departments as necessarySkills & Essentials: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Microbiology Previous work experience of practical microbiological testing on food products Good communication skills are essential Methodical and organised Good understanding of statistical process control and problem solvingBenefits: Ongoing contract with a possibility of temp to perm Paid accrued holidays Weekly Pay Access to staff shop & Canteen Access to benefits scheme which includes 100's of high street discounts and much more Fantastic career opportunitiesPlease note this is an agency role working with Randstad based on site at Cola Cola Edmonton but the job role does have the potential to becoming permanent.
