Job Description
My client is currently looking to recruit a Metrology Engineer to join their site on the outskirts of Glasgow. You will be working with a successful manufacturer, that has a culture on site that is results-driven with a strong focus on continuous improvement. Responsibilities:
Develop and create CMM programs using mCosmos software to perform precise measurements on parts and assemblies
Operate CMM machines efficiently to measure components as per engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances
Set up and calibrate CMM machines before conducting measurements to ensure accuracy and reliability
Conduct regular inspection and verification of parts according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Utilise mCosmos software for efficient measurement programming, including advanced features like probe configurations, coordinate system setups, and data analysis tools
Oversee regular calibration of all factory measurement equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal quality requirements
Organise and coordinate with external calibration suppliers for periodic calibration services, ensuring all necessary certifications and documentation are providedExperience Required:
Experience working with other CMM software programs such as PC-DMIS, mCosmos, or similar
Certification in quality control or CMM operation (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician)
Familiarity with ISO/TS 16949 or other industry-specific quality standards
Knowledge of calibration standards and working with external suppliers for equipment calibration and validationBefore You Apply
