Job Description

The Company Our Irish based client is a family-run eye care clinic, where they are dedicated to providing patients with comprehensive medical and surgical eye care. With a deep-rooted commitment to vision health, they strive to meet all of their patient’s eye care needs, ranging from routine check-ups and updating your glasses to surgical services like cataract surgery and eye injections. At their practice, they embody the values of availability, expertise, and compassion, ensuring that their patients receive the highest level of care and attention. Patient Load / Type / Clinics There are 2 clinics each day, am and pm. Doctors are expected to see 10 patients per clinic. Clinic slots are 20 minutes duration. Patients are mixed between private and public. Patients are typical of a community ophthalmology clinic setting: glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, etc. Patients are booked in advance but we do facilitate urgent walk-ins. Internal Services Offered Doctors have access to OCT, OCT-A, Visual Fields Analyser. Doctors can refer patients internally in Medical Optics for YAG laser capsulotomy, intravitreal injections, minor procedures (chalazion removal, syringe and probe) and cataract. Accommodation They can provide an apartment for up to 5 months. While living in Dublin is expensive and finding accommodation can take a while, all doctors have accommodation in Dublin that allows them to either drive or take the train. Hours The working week is 40 hours, 5 days a week. Doctors are expected to undertake two four-hour clinical sessions per day with a break for lunch (8 hours in total). Salary The basic salary is €120,000 per annum. The doctor is paid 45% of the fee paid by the patient. We would expect the doctor to earn excess of €140,000 per annum before tax. Doctors are also paid an additional fee for interpreting scans
