Ford & Stanley Interim- The Rail Recruitment Experts are seeking several skilled Mechanically biased Train Assemblers. The Opportunity You will be working in a state-of-the-art facility in Newport, Wales assembling brand new Trains for Transport for Wales. We require an Mechanically biased individual with a heavy engineering background, ideally Rail, Aerospace, or Automotive. Contract Length: Initial 6 months Location (s): Newport, Wales Hours: Days:  Monday to Thursday- 7AM-4PM Friday: 7AM-1PM Shifts: Monday to Thursday- 6AM- 3PM or 2PM-11PM Friday- 6AM-10AM, or 2PM-6PM  Key Role and Responsibilities The Assembly Operative is a member of a team responsible for carrying out various assembly procedures, including fitting components across Mechanical tasks within a Production environment to achieve the fully built vehicle. Follows specifications and other appropriate instructions and/or procedures to accurately assemble components on a train using a variety of tools and equipment. Carry out lean production activities. Record and report faults to relevant areas of production.. Ensure all records (manual and digital) are completed correctly and on time.  The Candidate The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to new surroundings You will have a background in heavy engineering and an Mechanical skillset. Essentials Manually dexterous, with electrical quality aptitude High attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks well Able to use a variety of machines and hand tools Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team Knowledge and experience in promoting safe working practices in a safety-critical workplace Able to maintain accurate records Desirables About Ford & Stanley Group Ford & Stanley Group are in the business of people and performance.
