Job Opportunity: Mechanical Project Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing)
Location: Midlands (UK)
Salary: £40k – £49k (depending on experience) + Benefits
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Mechanical Project Engineer to join our growing team in the Midlands. With an expanding client base and exciting new mechanical projects underway, this is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role in delivering high-quality HVAC and plumbing systems.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing mechanical projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Your expertise will be crucial in handling HVAC systems, plumbing, and associated infrastructure for diverse projects across the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee the execution of HVAC and mechanical installation projects nationwide.
* Attend client site meetings and collaborate on project planning, timelines, and specifications.
* Conduct site surveys, contribute to tender bids, and support contract negotiations.
* Participate in pre-construction meetings and lead follow-up meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
* Efficiently manage resources, including subcontractors and in-house teams, ensuring timely completion.
* Oversee material procurement and project budgeting.
* Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Develop and manage Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
* Prepare and compile comprehensive Operation & Maintenance manuals for each project.
* Ensure all work is delivered to scope, on time, within budget, and with no unresolved defects.
* Manage variations and changes to the project scope as required.
* Supervise and manage multiple projects with budgets ranging from £20k to £1m.
* Respond quickly and effectively to issues on-site or off-site.
* Contribute actively to the overall success of the company by engaging in collaborative efforts across the business.
What We Are Looking For:
* Industry Experience: Proven experience in the HVAC or mechanical services industry, including a solid understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing services, and related legislation.
* Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of key HVAC and plumbing systems, including knowledge of leading suppliers and equipment.
* Qualifications: Ideally, ONC/HNC in Building Services or related field (HVAC), but relevant experience will be considered.
* Certifications: A valid CSCS card is required.
* Software Proficiency: Strong IT skills, with competence in working with CAD drawings and project management tools.
* Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
* Team Player: Able to collaborate with various teams while also working independently to achieve project goals.
