Job Description

Mechanical Project Manager – Industrial fit-out project - Essex A fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager to join a market-leading M&E Contractor based in Essex. This role provides full project ownership of an industrial fit-out project, along with ongoing opportunities for career progression.. The successful candidate will oversee all mechanical services, working closely with the electrical project manager to ensure smooth execution. Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage the mechanical services package, ensuring ventilation, public health, sprinkler systems, VRF heating/cooling, and BMS are installed to the highest standards. * Oversee project planning, procurement, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and budget. * Work closely with subcontractors, CDP specialists, and internal teams to ensure seamless coordination. * Conduct quality control inspections, risk assessments, and site safety checks to maintain compliance. * Monitor financial performance, working with the Quantity Surveyor to manage costs, variations, and payments. * Attend and lead client, consultant, and contractor meetings, ensuring project goals are met. Education & Certifications: * Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (preferred). * SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme). * CSCS Card (Managerial/Black Card preferred). * First Aid at Work * CIBSE or IMechE membership Experience & Industry Knowledge: * Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the M&E contracting industry. * Proven experience in mechanical project management within M&E contracting. * Strong background in industrial/commercial fit-outs, specifically ventilation, public health, sprinkler systems, VRF, and BMS. * Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, procurement, and health & safety compliance. * Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
