Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Fitter Location: Wickwar, South Gloucestershire Hours: 40+ hours per week Salary: £11.44ph to £13.29ph DOE Key Responsibilities of a Mechanical Fitter: * Assemble, fit, and install mechanical systems and components in machinery and equipment. * Interpret technical drawings and manuals to ensure the correct assembly of parts. * Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems to ensure they operate efficiently. * Conduct inspections and tests to identify and resolve mechanical issues. * Work closely with engineers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time. * Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health and safety regulations. * Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete tasks. * Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used. Key Skills of a Mechanical Fitter: * Proven experience in mechanical fitting or a related field. * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently or as part of a team. * Good communication and organisational skills. * Familiarity with health and safety standards in a mechanical environment. * A qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
