Mechanical Engineer – Fuel Systems for a Leading Waste Management Company
Are you prepared for an immersive, hands-on engineering role? Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Site-Based Engineer to join the team.
Role Overview:
Salary: £37-42k, plus expenses and accommodation for overnight stays, company van
Location: M62 Corridor – you maybe located in Manchester, Liverpool, Halifax, Leeds and Hull
Schedule: 5 days a week on-site

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work on a diverse range of fuel system projects, including:
* Tank Testing & Maintenance: Perform tank pressure testing, visual examinations, and detailed reporting.
* Fuel System Surveys: Conduct pre-start surveys for fuel tank installations.
* Equipment Installation: Install fuel conditioning equipment, pumps, and pipework systems.
* System Upgrades: Replace and install pipework, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
* Fuel Quality Management: Conduct fuel sampling, filtration, and system optimization.
* Standards Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to OFTEC standards, building regulations, and specific client requirements.
* Documentation: Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: Proven track record in fuel systems maintenance, installation, or a related engineering role.
* Technical Skills: Knowledge of pump and pipework installations, fuel conditioning equipment, and tank testing techniques.
* Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with OFTEC standards and building regulations.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high standards of quality in both work execution and documentation.
* Teamwork & Independence: Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively on-site.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering and Pipework fitting
* Desirable OFTEC 600A qualification
* Practical experience in site-based engineering roles
* Strong knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation
* Full clean UK driving license.
* CSCS/CCNSG card
