I’m currently recruiting for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative team based in Hertfordshire. Since 1997, this company has been designing and manufacturing cutting-edge equipment and machinery, delivering tailored solutions to a wide range of industries globally.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing these systems using SolidWorks. You’ll be part of a team that works through projects from the initial design phase to completion, with a deep focus on machining, tooling, structural frameworks, and automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and design bespoke special purpose systems using SolidWorks.
Work closely with the R&D team to ensure the product specifications meet the customer’s needs and expectations.
Take a hands-on approach, seeing projects through from concept to completion, designing components, tooling, and conveyor systems.
Design sheet metal parts, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, pick-and-place assemblies, and automation solutions.
Collaborate with in-house mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure quality at every stage of the build process.
Key Requirements:
Relevant industry experience in mechanical design and manufacturing.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and structural frameworks.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and automation solutions is desirable.
Ability to work well in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:45 AM – 5:00 PM
Friday: 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM
