THE ROLE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for producing technical drawings, engineering designs, calculations and specifications with the use of softwares and in accordance with agreed deadlines and budgets.
* Able to prepare technical reports in accordance with briefs from clients.
* Demonstrable technical understanding of mechanical engineering and proven ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
* Comply with project management, operational, environmental and health and safety procedures.
* Attend and participate internal and external meetings.
* Maintain awareness of the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets at level appropriate to role.
* Proactively manage own professional development (eg: actively pursuing Chartership with an appropriate professional institution).
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND
*
Qualified to a bachelor’s degree (BEng) or higher (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
*
Experience with undertaking HVAC designs, with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in various complex projects within a consultancy is essential.
*
The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have experience of designing into Revit MEP.
*
Excellent communication skills.
*
Demonstrate commitment to supporting the professional development of less experienced staff, by effective mentoring and coaching of less experienced staff.
*
No prior Data Centre experience needed.
