Job Description

Mechanical Chargehand Location: Central Belt, Scotland - Multiple sites Duration: 6-8 months Rates: £320 - £350 p/day - LTD Company Tickets: SSSTS/SMSTS, NG Persons/SSE authorisations, CSCS/CCNSG Main Purposes of Job 1. This supporting role is to assist work within a site team on mechanical and electrical installation activities. Responsibility for the completion of task cards and associated on site quality documents as directed by the Site Supervisor. 2. Reports to Site Supervisor or as required by deployment. 3. Duty of care for themselves and all individuals on site to ensure that they work safely at all times. Key Tasks 1. Works to all applicable QEHS procedures as briefed in the site induction including control of access to their allocated work area 2. Carries out any other duties within their competence to the relevant quality / industry standards as directed by the Site Team Lead or Site Supervisor 3. Operate within timescales set out by their Site Supervisor and highlight potential deviations in advance including coordinating with other work parties to ensure efficient and safe working by all Key results/ Objectives 1. Adhere to the site rules as briefed to them by the Site Supervisor & Site Manager. 2. Comply with the Health and Safety, Environmental & Quality Plans and know their duties to be discharged in each case. Carrying out actions and assist in creating required documentation within the project mile-stone dates 3. Proactively participate in the completion of all task cards allocated to their team. Immediate planning of upcoming task to ensure all Drawings, Material & resources are available Experience Apprentice trained, C&G Minimum NVQ Level 3 (Appropriate Course) plus 1 years' experience. Or an industry-recognised training with a minimum of 2 years' experience as part of a team on an Electricity Supply Industry construction site or similar (Power Generation, Oil & Gas or General Construction Sites). Experienced preferred in participating in site activities comprising of mechanical and electrical installation. Comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental legislation / practice within a substation environment, for example, National Grid, SSE, SPEN etc. Requires the presence and personal qualities necessary to effectively Lead work parties, supervise their tasking and work within a team or individually as required.
