The company are industrial automation experts, specializing in robotics and the aerospace sector.
The Role
To support the next ambitious and exciting phase of project delivery, they are seeking inquisitive and curious Mechanical Build Engineers to join the team. The successful candidates will collaborate with key stakeholders to critically review technical drawings and build high-quality, bespoke, robot-based electromechanical automation systems to specification and in accordance with required safety standards.
As a Mechanical Build Engineer, teamwork and communication will be essential. You will work cross-departmentally to deliver technical projects, proactively sharing your skills and experience to provide feedback on areas of concern and suggestions for improvement. The primary goal will be to accurately build and test electrical systems.
The ideal candidates will be independent thinkers, able to identify the root causes of mechanical faults and implement solutions.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and qualities:
• Qualified to HNC in a mechanical-focused course, or mechanically apprentice-trained, or equivalent level of experience
• Good level of machining skills, including using milling machines and lathes
• Proficiency in drilling, tapping, and grinding, alongside general mechanical workshop skills
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in both written and verbal English
• Confidence in reading and understanding technical electrical drawings
• Willingness, interest, and ability to rapidly learn new technology
• Proactive problem-solving abilities
• Good understanding of how industrial systems work, particularly concerning safety systems
• Ability to plan workload and complete tasks autonomously
• Capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Holder of a full UK driving license
• Working knowledge and appreciation for all elements of health and safety

Salary: £25,000-£35,000
