Job Description
Headley are recruiting for a growing manufacturing company in Leeds who have a live vacancy for a Manufacturing Manager to take on an interesting and challenging position – utilising your production management experience to manage change and implement production and operational improvements.
The business is well established in Leeds and operates production units manufacturing for a variety of materials, utilising different processes, different staffing requirements and each presenting different challenges.
This is a genuine opportunity to make a material difference in a fast growing, ambitious company.
We are seeking an experienced production manager or manufacturing manager from a fast paced production background employing modern methods of manufacture, committed to Lean principles and continuous improvement ideas to help modernise and improve the manufacturing divisions
About you:
* Experience in fast paced, deadline driven manufacturing environments
* Understanding of modern manufacturing methods, production machinery
* A strong manager, able to manage up, as well as down
* Committed to, and experienced in Lean manufacturing principles, 5s, continuous improvement
* ERP / MRP experience
* Ability to analyse current processes, suggest, justify and implement change.
* Strong leadership and management skills
Key duties of the job to include:
* Day to day management of production staff across all manufacturing units.
* Working with other internal departments to ensure production targets consistently achieved
* Analysis of current production processes – identifying areas for improvements across processes and efficiencies
* Analysis and justification of potential capex projects
* Regular liaison with other department heads as required, necessary management reporting
* Implementing and management culture change
* H&s, Quality Control responsibilities.
