Job Title: Service Engineer - CNC & Conventional Lathes & Millers
Location: Birmingham (UK-wide travel)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Overtime + Company Car + Benefits
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join our team, responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of CNC and conventional lathes and milling machines across the UK. Based in Birmingham when not on the road, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers receive excellent technical support and machine maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities:
Service, repair, and maintenance of CNC and conventional lathes and millers at customer sites across the UK.
Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues, providing solutions to minimise downtime.
Perform machine installations and commissioning.
Provide customer training and technical support on machine operation and maintenance.
Work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Liaise with the internal team to ensure smooth service operations.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Service Engineer working with CNC and/or conventional lathes and millers.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
Knowledge of CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain) is highly desirable.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally stay overnight.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.
