We are looking for a motivated service engineer to join a market leading manufacturing company in their respective field. Reporting directly to the service manager you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development this company is always is always looking to enhance its employees and their skill sets, whilst additionally being supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company.
Role Description
Multi-Skilled Mechanical Bias
50% site workshop based (must be commutable to Higham on the Hill) & 50% UK wide service
Conduct preventive maintenance on manual metal cutting machines to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues at our workshop or at customer locations.
Replace faulty components (motors, gears, belts, electrical parts) and ensure correct installation.
Machine Repair Service (spindles, slideway re-work, gearbox & transmissions, etc.)
Upgrades to CNC & PLC Controls & Machine Re-Programming
CAD Design
Improvements to Production Processes (Process Development)
Preventative Maintenance Programmes
Skills and Qualifications
NVQ LV3 preferred
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex systems.
CNC machine tools/metal cutting - advantageous
Service experience - advantageous
