Construction Logistics Manager
Wigan
£55,000 - £65,000 + Package

Our client is committed to delivering high-quality construction projects on time and within budget. With a reputation for excellence and a growing portfolio, they are seeking a skilled Construction Logistics Manager to oversee and manage the logistics operations on their projects.
The project is a large £50m project in Wigan town centre with a complex concrete pour involved.

Role Overview:
As a Construction Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of materials, equipment, and personnel across construction sites. You will be overseeing all aspects of site logistics, from planning and scheduling deliveries to managing suppliers and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Your role is crucial in maintaining the workflow and optimizing resources across multiple construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Logistics Planning: Develop and implement logistics plans for projects, coordinating with project managers, contractors, and suppliers.
* Material Management: Oversee the timely delivery, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment on site.
* Supplier Coordination: Manage relationships with suppliers and transport companies, ensuring on-time delivery and quality control.
* Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols.
* Team Management: Lead a team of logistics coordinators, ensuring smooth operations and efficient resource management.
* Budget Management: Monitor logistics costs and work to reduce inefficiencies to stay within budget.
* Problem Solving: Quickly address logistical challenges such as delays or unforeseen issues, maintaining minimal disruption to the construction timeline.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of construction processes and site logistics.
* Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and site teams.
* Ability to manage a team effectively, with a focus on performance and safety.
* Proficiency in logistics software and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, etc.).
* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between project sites as needed.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Degree or certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Construction Management.
* Experience in large-scale construction projects.
* Health and Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH).
