The City of Wolverhampton Council is looking for a passionate Licencing Officer/Administrator to join their vibrant Private Hire Vehicle Licencing Department on a temporary ongoing contract . In this rewarding role, you'll play a key part in processing licencing applications, ensuring compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service while helping to enhance community safety and support service improvements. We are recruiting for a Licencing Officer/Administrator to join our dynamic team within the Private Hire Vehicle Licencing Department at the City of Wolverhampton Council. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a role that is both rewarding and challenging! Pay rate: £13.26 per hour Location: Bilston Hours: Full time (Mon-Fri 9 am to 5 pm) What You'll Do: As a Licencing Officer/Administrator, you'll play a crucial role in: Processing Private Hire Licencing Applications: Ensure all applications are handled efficiently and accurately. Checking DBS Update Records: Maintain compliance and uphold safety standards. Issuing Licences, Permits, and Registrations: Be the go-to person for all licencing needs! Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Offer advice and information to the public, local businesses, and council officers.Key Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct data entry and maintain updated spreadsheets. Maintain accurate registers, records, and statistics using both manual and computer systems. Answer telephone calls and handle inquiries in a professional manner. Prepare standard letters and memoranda as needed. Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required. Prepare and present reports to relevant officers and Members. Be flexible with working hours; occasional duties outside normal office hours may be required. Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations and data protection.In addition to these responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to engage in staff development and training to foster your professional growth. Plus, you'll contribute to service improvement efforts and support the Council's commitment to crime reduction and community safety!
