Job Description

Provide in-class support or mentoring outside the classroom as directed by the SEN Team Leader. Assist the class lecturer in preparing materials or activities for named students. Actively encourage and support independent learning. Serve as a key worker for designated students with EHCPs and assist the SEN Team Leader in the EHCP annual review process. Work closely with personal tutors/Personal Learning Advisers to monitor and review individual student targets. With the knowledge or permission of the personal tutor, Personal Learning Adviser, SEN Team Leader, or Specialist Support Lead, communicate with parents via telephone or in writing, as appropriate. Act as a trouble-shooter, helping students meet deadlines and catch up on missed work. Attend Academy and Inclusion Team meetings. Participate in training and development activities, including core College training and mandatory Team Teach training. Accompany and support students during work experience placements or trips, where appropriate. Collaborate with College staff to create Individual Risk Assessments, Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans, and Medical Protocols, and assist with exam access arrangements. Carry out administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, updating ProMonitor, providing progress reports to tutors, and conducting regular student support and progress reviews.
