About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Service Manager to play a vital role in supporting both the team and individuals with a learning disability care provider. They provide a diverse range of needs, including autism, mental health conditions, Down syndrome, moderate learning disabilities, and challenging behaviours. Langdon Park consists of three connected houses, with a current team of one manager and six support workers providing care for nine individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Management:
* Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of support workers.
* Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
* Oversee staff training, development, and performance (e.g., supervisions, probation management).
* Manage rotas effectively.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance:
* Conduct weekly and monthly audits (finance, medication).
* Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
* Oversee medication management (ordering, storage, disposal).
* Support for Individuals:
* Provide day-to-day care, both at home and in the community.
* Promote personal development and independence through tailored activities (e.g., arts & crafts, gardening, swimming, social outings).
* Assist with personal care needs.
* Decision-Making:
* Use management data to make informed decisions.
* Foster a solution-focused and person-centred culture.
What You'll Bring

* Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities or mental health needs.
* Supervisory or management experience (or willingness to train for it).
* A passion for providing person-centred support.
* Organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively under pressure.
* Flexibility to work various shifts.
* A full manual driver's license is highly desirable.
