The Client:
Our client is a £65m contractor that specialises in Design, MEP, BMS and Critical Services working across the Commercial, Retail & Data Centre sectors. They work between projects from £1m through to £16m MEP value and due to having won multiple projects, they are currently looking for an ambitious Junior Electrical Estimator to their growing team.
Based between their Central London office and projects across London and the South-East, you'll play a key role from start to finish in a strong Estimating team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Prepare estimates for electrical installations in commercial offices, healthcare, public sector projects & more (e.g., hospitals), and direct client works.
• Accurately reviewing project plans and ensuring all electrical requirements are correctly captured in estimates, specifications, and related documents to prepare proposals.
• Using your hands on site and tools experience to understand practical aspects of projects and then provide estimations
• Working closely with the Project Managers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimation of costs, including materials, labour, and overheads.
• Helping the team meet project deadlines with the preparation of estimates
• Learning and developing your estimating skills including the use of software tools
• Keeping accurate records and contributing to the maintenance of cost databases and documentation
• Review and update existing cost databases and estimation tools.
Requirements:
• Site/tools experience in electrical works essential
• Previous experience in estimating electrical projects is preferred
• Experience with estimating software is desired but not essential (Estimator, Excel etc)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team
• Good attention to detail
• Preferably qualified by apprenticeship or to C & G/ONC level
• Proven experience in a similar position with an M&E contractor or in the M&E division of a main contractor
• Proven ability to estimate costs and timescales accurately in order to meet deadlines
