ABOUT THE ROLE
As Junior Demand Planner, you will work with the buying team, using statistical modelling to analyse/validate customer sales data to create a model for forecasting using budgetary and sale expectation information, monitoring the supply chain from point of order to receipt. The role will be varied and will cover all aspects of demand planning.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Owning the demand and forecast planning process across the business.
* Get into the detail of the operation, understanding key process so that you can build meaningful insight in support of the current systems.
* Analyse data using a variety of query languages
* Bring Insight to life through the art of storytelling, making sure key messages land with stakeholders and there is no room for ambiguity.
* Work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders to solve problems as a team
* Sharing experience and knowledge with those less experienced then yourself and helping everyones data knowledge grow.
* Manage the preparation of Purchase Orders based on demand planning, MOQ’s, production process.
* Liaising directly with suppliers to ensure products are produced / shipped and delivered correctly.
* Support and play and active role in the strategic planning of the product range throughout the product life cycle.
* Co-ordinate and liaise with the Sales, Buying, Customer Service and Management teams.
* Generate Trading reports weekly using Power BI, shared with senior management
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
As Demand Planner, you will have experience in logistics and distribution, ideally within a wholesale environment. With good project management skills, stock planning, and supply chain knowledge.
You will also have:
* Significant and proven experience in demand planning/merchandising/stock planning roles.
* An excellent understanding of sales forecasting and supply chain processes, data and reporting
* Comfortable using a variety of tools to visualise insight and help you tell the story of the data
* High Level of Accuracy and attention to detail
* High numerate and commercially aware
* Solid experience in a dynamic, high SKU count consumer business with a proactive and ‘hands-on’ style.
* Understanding of applied math/statistics used to create forecasts
* Ability to think analytically and creatively
* Excellent communication skills
* Self-motivation, ability to work in a team and enthusiastic approach to work
* Advanced Excel skills (Pivot-tables, VLOOKUP/Index/Match, VBA)
* Experience of Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics Nav, and/or SQL (preferable but not essential)
ABOUT THE CLIENT
One of Europe’s leading importers and distributors of quality textile products from around the world. They operate from two 25,000 sq.m+ warehouses and their own dedicated sourcing offices/fulfilment centres in China, India, and Turkey. Based in North London on-site.
SALARY
Circa £30,000 - £40,000 flexible DOE
