Job Advert: ITU Nurse
The role of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide enhanced support to patients with acute medical needs within the Intensive Care/High Dependency Units. This may include, but is not limited to, acute hospital wards and private hospitals. The RN will deliver specialist nursing care while assisting patients on their pathway to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality care to patients at Level 3 (ITU/ICU Nurses) and Level 2 (HDU Nurses).
* Work flexibly across different areas within the scope of clinical competencies to meet the demands of the client’s workforce model and evolving patient needs.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Current NMC registration and relevant post-registration qualifications.
* Evidence of study at Degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
* Minimum of 6 months UK NHS experience.
* Confident in clinical skills.
* Excellent medical knowledge.
* Competent using specialised equipment relevant to the Intensive Care department.
* Advanced Life Support (ALS) training.
Desirable:
* Computer literacy with knowledge of patient administration systems (e.g., RIO, SystmOne, EObs, or similar).
* Venepuncture and cannulation skills.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Clinical competence at a minimum Band 5 level.
* Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent teamwork capabilities.
* Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
* Awareness of current professional nursing issues.
* Advocacy for patient-centered care.
* Psychological resilience to maintain emotional distance when necessary.
* Exceptional customer service skills.
Salary:
* £21 - Days
* £26 - Nights/Saturdays
* £33 - Sundays
