Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for Investigators to support with dangerous dog's investigations for a police force in the midlands.
Start date - January 2025
Contract length - 6 months
Location - Wednesbury Police Station or Dog training centre, Balsall Common
Banding - £18.41p per hour
Hours - Full time
Purpose of the Post
The role is to support our dangerous dog unit, the unit has seen an increase in demand owing to the XL bully legislation.
The role will include managing incidents where someone has sustained an injury from a dog, as well as creating court files in relation to banned breeds.
This can be an emotive job and does sometimes involve authorising dogs to be euthanised.
The successful candidate can work from Wednesbury or Balsall Common, but must be able to operate from a fixed place of work.
Main duties and responsibilities
Interviewing suspects and witnesses
Taking witness statements
Creating case files for court
Person Specification
PIP1 or PIP2 qualified investigator
Dangerous dog experience would be desirable
You will need to hold or undergo police vetting in order to undertake this role.
