My client is a leading UK based Engineering business who has an extremely interesting, very involved and quite challenging role available. The position will find you leading and managing international business development activities in a specified region and managing existing relationships with customers and representatives. You will develop new business opportunities in adjacent markets and process opportunities through from initial inquiry to order close. This role is not a 'quick turnover' sales type position, so will therefore suit someone who is used to long gestation periods, being able to keep all parties up to date as time moves on. If you are from the aerospace, aviation or defence sector then you may be used to these lengthy processes. Responsibilities will include • Deliver yearly profitable order intake to an agreed target • Attend relevant Exhibitions. • Manage the agent network in the region • Maintaining effective documentation • Managing existing relationships and identifying new representatives • Liaise with the BD and Engineering team to provide expert advice and requirements capture • To work on tasks directed by the Managing Director and Business Development Director in support of the Business Strategic Plan For this role, you should be able to show significant demonstrable success in developing, managing, leading and winning significant sales campaigns and product sales within the aerospace, aviation, defence or other comparable sectors, and have a strong understanding and knowledge of international markets and cultural differences in business practices • Demonstrate strong customer and stakeholder relationship skills • Have knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures This role requires extensive travel, so it is imperative that you are able to be away from home frequently, and also have no travel restrictions on your UK passport. When you are in the UK, you are required to be at the client's premises for 2 days a week. Travel and accommodation are covered by the business. A full job description is available.
