Interim Marketing & Communications Manager - Public Health (Tobacco Control) 📍 Location: East of England (Hybrid - Remote with Occasional On-Site) 📆 Contract: 6 months (initially) 💰 Rate: £350 per day ⏳ Part-time (3-4 days per week initially, with potential to increase to 4-5 days) Make a Real Impact on Public Health Panoramic Associates is working with a local authority in the East of England to recruit an Interim Marketing & Communications Manager to lead tobacco control marketing and communications activity across the region. This role is crucial in denormalising smoking, reducing smoking prevalence, and tackling the health, operational, and financial harms of smoking across a population of 6.7 million people. Reporting directly to Directors of Public Health, you will kickstart a regional approach to tobacco control communications, playing a key role in achieving Smokefree 2030. You will lead on the development, implementation, and evaluation of high-performing, integrated mass media campaigns at both regional and local levels. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Develop & Lead a Comprehensive Marketing Strategy - Use behavioural insights, social marketing, and behaviour change methodology to reduce smoking rates and health inequalities. ✅ Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Building - Map and engage key regional and national partners across the NHS, local authorities, and public health networks. ✅ Mass Media Campaign Leadership - Plan and execute integrated regional and local public health marketing campaigns, leveraging national campaigns to drive engagement. ✅ Digital & Social Media Strategy - Enhance digital presence with high-quality content, new digital channels, and active social media campaigns. ✅ Service Promotion & Behaviour Change - Identify barriers to access, improve the customer journey, and increase footfall into local stop smoking services. ✅ Communications & PR - Lead proactive and reactive communications across news media and public health partners. ✅ Marketing Advisory & Capacity Building - Provide specialist marketing advice, training, and coaching to partners across the health system. ✅ Performance & Impact Evaluation - Establish a robust evaluation framework and produce impact reports with optimisation recommendations. ✅ Commissioning & Budget Management - Oversee marketing activities, manage external partners, and deliver a detailed options appraisal for strategy implementation. Who We're Looking For: ✔ Experienced Public Health Marketing Professional - Previous experience leading marketing and communications strategies in public health, ideally in tobacco control or stop smoking services. ✔ Proven Campaign Management Expertise - Experience in mass media, social marketing, digital strategy, and behavioural change campaigns. ✔ Strong Stakeholder Engagement Skills - Ability to build and manage relationships across NHS, local authorities, and public health networks. ✔ Data-Driven Approach - Skilled in evaluating marketing performance, using insights, and optimising campaigns for impact.
