Job Description
Are you a hands-on, practical individual with experience in installations, construction, or highways work? We are looking for a Installation Operative to join our team, working on the installation, maintenance, and refurbishment of shelters across the UK.
As part of a small team, you will be responsible for preparing sites, assembling shelters and components, and ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard, in line with health and safety regulations and quality management systems. This role involves travel, working outdoors in all conditions, and requires someone who can follow and give instructions confidently.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Following health & safety procedures at all times
✅ Loading shelter components and tools into company vehicles
✅ Driving company vehicles and ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues
✅ Setting up traffic management systems in line with regulations
✅ Carrying out shelter installations, removals, repairs, and refurbishments
✅ Preparing bases using concrete, paving, and excavation equipment
✅ Installing electrical cabling, solar kits, and lighting for shelters
✅ Applying signage, logos, and customer branding as required
✅ Maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles to a high standard
✅ Completing all necessary health & safety documentation
✅ Assisting with workshop tasks, including fabrication when required
✅ Providing training and support to new operatives
✅ Ensuring work is completed to a high standard, with excellent customer service
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Experience: Working in a construction, highways, or installation environment
✔ Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, problem-solving, and effective communication
✔ Technical Knowledge: Ability to install electrical components, solar kits, and cabling for lighting
✔ Independence: Ability to work alone or as part of a team, following and giving instructions
✔ Driving: Full UK driving licence with at least 4 years’ experience
Desirable Qualifications:
📌 NRASWA Operative or Supervisor level certification
📌 HIAB Training
📌 Abrasive Wheels Certification
📌 Manual Handling and Working at Height Training
