Industrial Electrician
Annual Salary: £41,643.18 rising to £45,590.71
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Job Type: Full-time, double days 6-2, 2-10 Monday to Friday Reed Engineering are working with a leading global organisation in the metallurgical industry who are looking for an Industrial Electrician to join their team. This role involves installation, maintenance and removal of electrical components within both industrial and office environments. You will perform advanced troubleshooting for complex industrial automation systems and design simple electrical installations. This position offers the opportunity to work with heavy machinery and involves welding and fabricating techniques. Extensive training will be provided in a well-equipped workshop.
Day-to-day of the role:
Work as part of a multi-skilled team to safely complete routine and non-routine repairs, installations and removals of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Develop and maintain knowledge of a wide variety of industrial plant equipment, including jaw crushers, conveyors, cranes and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Utilise workshop equipment to support maintenance and installation efforts across the plant.
Operate vehicles including counterbalance forklift trucks and articulated boom lifts.
Assist in troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment and instrumentation, including interpreting basic to intermediate electrical diagrams.
Train junior maintenance staff in industrial techniques and standards.
Handle additional responsibilities and duties as needed by the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Level 3 Diploma in electrical installation, inspection, testing certification, and reporting, or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the industrial electrical field.
Right to live and work in the UK.
Proficient in English for effective communication regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
Familiarity with interpreting risk assessments and electrical diagrams.
Experience working with 3-Phase electrical supplies.
Desired Skills:
GCSEs in mathematics, engineering or physics.
Experience in a multi-skilled industrial setting.
PLC & industrial controls experience.
Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent).
Experience in fault-finding on PLC equipment.
