Job Description

Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) / Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Are you an experienced IDVA or ISVA looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable individuals? Belmont Recruitment is partnering with a private charity in West Yorkshire to recruit a dedicated professional for a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence, empowering them to rebuild their lives in a safe and supportive environment. About the Role: You’ll provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to adults experiencing domestic or sexual violence. As a key point of contact, you’ll advocate on their behalf, ensuring access to the right services and pathways to recovery. Your responsibilities will include: * Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and developing tailored safety and support plans. * Providing emotional and practical support to survivors, both in crisis and throughout their recovery journey. * Liaising with partner agencies, including the police, housing, and social services, to coordinate care and ensure client safety. * Supporting clients through the criminal justice process, including attending court as needed. * Delivering prevention-focused interventions and raising awareness of available services. What You’ll Need: * Previous experience working as an IDVA or ISVA, with relevant qualifications (e.g Safe Lives or ISVA training). * A strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed practice. * Knowledge of the criminal justice system and multi-agency working. * Enhanced DBS clearance (essential). * Excellent communication and advocacy skills. What’s on Offer: * Competitive hourly rate of £19 - £22 (dependant on experience). * The chance to work with a respected charity making a real difference in the community. * A supportive and collaborative team environment. * A 12-month contract, with potential for extension based on funding and performance. If you’re passionate about supporting survivors and making a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you.
