Position: DOLS Mental Health Assessor
Location: Various locations across - Essex / Northamptonshire
Payment: £210 per assessment
About the Role:
We are seeking experienced and dedicated DOLS Mental Health Assessors to join our dynamic social care team. As a DOLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) Mental Health Assessor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that individuals who may be deprived of their liberty receive the necessary legal protections under the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
You will assess individuals who are at risk of being deprived of their liberty in care settings, ensuring that their rights are upheld and that appropriate procedures are followed. The role offers flexible working, with assessments carried out across various locations, providing a vital service to those in need of support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out independent DOLS assessments for individuals in care homes and hospitals.
* Evaluate mental health, capacity, and whether the deprivation of liberty is in the individual's best interests.
* Complete detailed assessment reports in accordance with legal frameworks and guidelines.
* Provide recommendations and ensure that all actions taken are in the best interests of the individual, ensuring their rights are safeguarded.
* Collaborate with health and social care professionals, and attend relevant meetings when necessary.
Essential Criteria:
* Qualified mental health professional (e.g., social worker, nurse, psychologist, or psychiatrist).
* In-depth knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and DOLS procedures.
* Previous experience of conducting mental health assessments.
* Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectivelyBefore You Apply
