About the Role
A leading family-owned food company based in West Cork is seeking an experienced HR individual to oversee all aspects of human resources across three sites. This role will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, legal compliance, and ethical auditing, while also supporting company-wide HR initiatives to drive engagement and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all recruitment and HR functions across three sites, ensuring smooth hiring and onboarding processes.
* Create and maintain job descriptions to align with business needs.
* Oversee employee relations, including disciplinary procedures, mediation, and grievance handling.
* Ensure legal compliance in all HR policies and procedures, including risk assessments and ethical standards (SMETA audits).
* Conduct return-to-work meetings and refer employees to company doctors in cases of workplace injury or illness.
* Facilitate the onboarding process, including contract preparation and induction programs.
* Organize transport and accommodation for new employees as required.
* Work closely with management to drive employee engagement, performance, and retention strategies.
* Travel to Cork City once a week as part of the role.
Key Requirements
* Third-level degree in Human Resources or a related field.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar HR role.
* Experience in the food manufacturing industry is a distinct advantage.
* Strong understanding of Irish employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
* Experience in ethical audits (SMETA) and workplace safety is beneficial.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Full driver’s license and own transport (weekly travel required)
