Job title: Housing Safety Enforcement Officer
Rate: £45-55 an hour, weekly pay

Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated Housing Safety Enforcement Officer to join our team in beautiful Cumberland, UK. In this rewarding role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring safe and healthy living conditions within their community.

The role:
Carry out inspections of residential properties to assess for potential hazards under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
Determine the risk levels associated with identified hazards and determine appropriate enforcement action.
Work closely with landlords and tenants to achieve compliance with relevant legislation, offering advice and guidance as needed
Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of inspections and enforcement actions
Issue enforcement notices, including improvement notices and prohibition orders, when necessary
Collaborate with other agencies, including Environmental Health and Fire Safety, to address complex cases and ensure resident safety
Stay up-to-date on current legislation and best practices in housing safetyExperience needed:
A strong understanding of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and relevant legislation
Proven experience in conducting housing inspections and enforcing housing standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements independently
