Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Housing Officer to join them on a Temporary Basis initially until April.
Job Purpose: Provide personalised support to older or vulnerable tenants to help them live independently, assessing their needs and connecting them with relevant services. Promote social activities within sheltered accommodation.
Main Duties:
* Assess tenant needs and develop support plans, promoting independence, dignity, and security.
* Liaise with Housing, Health, and Social Services to ensure appropriate services are provided.
* Lead and organize social, health, and well-being activities in sheltered housing schemes, involving residents in service development.
* Advise tenants on local services and assist with applications or advocacy as needed.
* Participate in case conferences and liaise with external agencies, GPs, or family members.
* Stay informed on specialist topics like dementia to support tenants effectively.
This role requires office working initially and some home working but the candidates will need to be able to be in the North West Leicestershire District each working day.
Candidates must have their own transport and not rely on public transport.
Experience working as a generic Housing Officer preferably for a local authority is essential.
The generic roles includes tenancy management, rent arrears, allocations along with estate management.
There are a total of 9 Housing Officers each having a patch of approximately 400 properties
