Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highways Supervisor to join a local authority team in Manchester, overseeing carriageway and footway maintenance projects to ensure safe and efficient roads for local communities.
The main duties of the Highway Supervisor are:
Supervise and coordinate highway maintenance works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Oversee contractors and in-house teams, ensuring compliance with specifications, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
Inspect and assess carriageways and footways, identifying defects and planning necessary maintenance or repair works.
Monitor work progress, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
Liaise with stakeholders, including council departments, contractors, and the public, to ensure smooth project execution.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including CDM Regulations, NRSWA, and Health and Safety policies.
Keep accurate records of works, costs, and inspections using relevant systems and reporting tools.
