Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Timber Delivery Driver to meet our clients' requirements. This is an exciting career opportunity offering friendly hours, regular start times and an excellent working environment delivering timber to the trade around the North West and Midlands * Monday – Friday work with the option to work weekends * HGV class 2 driver experience essential * Temp to Perm Opportunity available for the right candidate **Please note that on occasions you may be required to do a night out** HGV Class 2 Timber Delivery Driver will need: * Cat-C Licence * Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card * No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's) * Experience with ratchet straps * Experience in a fast-paced multi-drop environment * Excellent customer service skills and good literacy * Full UK Driving licence, Class 2 entitlement held for 1 year * Able to work to tight deadlines * A good geographical knowledge of the region PLEASE NOTE, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FROM ANYBODY WHO HAS NO EXPERIENCE OF DRIVING THIS CLASS OF VEHICLE. HGV Class 2 Timber Delivery Driver Duties will include: * Driving company vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws * Carrying out required daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance * Maintaining regular contact with Branch Managers on daily progress * Completing paperwork accurately as instructed * Dealing with customers face to face in a polite and courteous manner * Multidrop deliveries * Off-loading and loading customer and company vehicles * Timely and safe delivery of loads to customers After probationary period the successful HGV Class 2 Timber Delivery Driver will receive a competitive rate of pay plus fantastic benefits including... * A comprehensive in-house training programme * Staff discounts * Pension scheme * Cycle to work scheme We offer a true, honest, and personal service and you will deal directly with the business owner. Plus, attractive minimum rate of pay of £13.50 per hour (plus holiday pay at a rate of 12.07%) paid weekly via PAYE. This will rise to £14.50 per hour when you complete your temp to perm period and move over to the client's payroll.
