Health and Safety Officer
Location: Swindon (Fully Onsite Role)
Job Type: Full-Time
Driving License Required: Must have a valid driving license as the role involves working across two sites in Swindon.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct weekly fire extinguisher checks.
* Perform weekly fire alarm call points checks.
* Carry out monthly ladder inspections.
* Conduct weekly defibrillator checks.
* Perform monthly health and safety inspections.
* Test emergency lights on a monthly basis.
* Update the health and safety personnel list regularly.
* Review and update existing Health and Safety procedures.
* Help to develop and implement new Health and Safety procedures.
* Conduct manual handling assessments.
* Perform Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments.
* Check and restock first aid boxes and eye wash stations.
* Monitor and update first aid stock.
* Maintain and update the training matrix; provide training to staff.
* Conduct COSHH risk assessments for cleaning products and production-packaged products.
* Perform risk assessments for machines, production lines, warehouses, and car parks.
* Prepare induction packs, verify right to work, and conduct staff inductions.
* Update the fire register regularly.
Qualifications:
* 1- 2 years’ proven experience in a similar Health and Safety role.
* Must be NEBOSH qualified and able to write risk assessments.
* Strong experience from a manufacturing H&S setting – food, pharma or medical strongly preferred.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
