We are looking for a Health and Safety officer to oversee all aspects of health, safety and welfare for a well-established Roofing contractor ensuring compliance with internal processes, relevant standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
· Review and maintenance of policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
· Take responsibility for the development of new systems and procedures
· Liaise with each project team to ensure current and future health, safety and welfare requirements are met
· Draft and implement all safety documentation including health and safety plans, risk and method statements, together with any associated information
· Liaise with clients and their relevant safety representatives to ensure current projects comply with safety standards and individual client requirements
· Manage direct employee safety
· Carry out safety tours of all projects on a regular basis
· Produce formal recorded audits or inspections monthly and review actions taken
· Formal reporting of any incidents, accidents or near misses together with monthly review
· Monitor existing workforce skills, assess H&S training requirements, monthly reporting and review with senior management, liaising with training partners
· Carry out van checks, First Aid Kits checks, Fire extinguisher checks, Drug and Alcohol Testing.
· Monthly and annual review with senior management
· Working with site management and operatives, listening to their concerns and provide guidance where appropriate
· Ability to manage own schedule prioritising by risk management
Requirements
· NEBOSH Qualification
· CSCS / NVQ
· Full UK Driving Licence
· Roofing experience desirable
Location
· Wirral with occasional travel to North East.

Pay: £52,500.00 per year
