BAE Systems is currently seeking a Contract SHE Advisor specialising in Risk to join their dynamic team. This role will support the development and implementation of Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and systems for a specified business area or site(s). You will provide competent SHE advice, enabling the successful management of SHE and the achievement of strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the development, maintenance, and deployment of a SHE management system that meets BAE Systems Operational Framework and International SHE Standards, facilitating organisational goals.
Provide comprehensive SHE advice and support to Line Leaders, ensuring effective SHE management within their area(s) of responsibility.
Develop and maintain SHE policies, management systems, objectives, assurance, reporting, training, and functional capability development for the business and site(s).
Deploy and implement SHE policies, objectives, and targets, providing competent advice on risk management and control.
Collate and provide SHE performance reports and investigate incidents in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Enhance SHE practice and performance within the business area or site(s).
Develop and implement innovative SHE change programmes, ensuring effective SHE risk management and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, influencing the consideration of SHE factors during decision-making.
Provide assurance for compliance with legal, BAE Systems Operational Framework, and SHE Management System requirements.
Deliver duties within appropriate timescales and budgets, and monitor the effectiveness of the implemented measures.
Job Requirements:
Strong technical understanding of safety, health, and environmental management standards and practices
In-depth knowledge of SHE requirements, best practices, and the ability to articulate and implement these within the work area.
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders across various levels, both internally and externally.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex situations and apply skills and knowledge to a range of issues.
Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and high-level sensitivity.
Qualifications:
NEBOSH Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
NEBOSH Diploma (desirable).
About the Team:
The team works closely with Senior Management to support SHE risk mitigation and improvement. This involves various risk reduction projects and assurance activities to determine associated risks and reduce them to ALARP.
