Head Of Project Management Scotland £(phone number removed) *Bonus *Hybrid Working *Package This is a senior management role offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects and grid infrastructure in the UK and beyond. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role provides leadership in project and programme management for a growing business with a strong presence in Norway and the UK/Ireland. The Senior Project and Programme Manager will oversee project management assignments, develop internal processes, and expand the business's project delivery portfolio in collaboration with international teams. The role also involves recruitment and management of project personnel, alongside active client engagement and business development efforts. Key Responsibilities Project Management: Act as the Key Account Manager for project and programme management assignments in the UK and Ireland, ensuring effective delivery and customer satisfaction. Serve as the Principal Consultant on all project input, providing leadership and expert guidance to internal teams and customers. Support customers with reviews, due diligence, and trusted advisor responsibilities, managing projects and programmes as an embedded part of their teams. Oversee the integration of regulatory consents, engineering design, procurement, and financial decisions within the scope of grid connection projects. Ensure project and programme management activities are delivered to high standards, with a focus on regulatory compliance and quality assurance.Business Development: Assist in business development and marketing efforts, contributing to strategies, attending sales meetings, and leading bid and proposal efforts. Take initiative in building relationships with new and existing customers to identify opportunities for expanding services. Stay up to date with industry standards, legislation, and best practices, disseminating relevant information to the team. Represent the business in working groups and industry events, promoting its expertise and capabilities. Develop and maintain methodologies, quality assurance principles, and reference libraries for project and programme management processes.Group Reporting and Authority: Report to the Managing Director for project, business development, and personnel matters. Maintain a matrix reporting line to the Group Sector Project Manager for subject matter and quality management. Manage junior project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of assignments. Act within an approved financial authorisation matrix, including the approval of training, materials, and resources necessary for project delivery and business development.Desired Attributes & Qualifications Degree-level qualification in project management or equivalent vocational experience within the power or grid industry. A minimum of 5 years' experience in project development, procurement, and implementation in renewable energy or engineering infrastructure. Knowledge of the full project and programme lifecycle, from strategy development to operational handover, is highly advantageous. Multi-disciplinary engineering project management experience, particularly in the power sector, is preferred. Familiarity with regulated infrastructure programmes, procurement, and economic approval processes is beneficial, with training support available. Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills, with a focus on delivering quality and value for customers
