The Role
As Head of Art and Design, you will:
Lead and manage the Art and Design department, driving excellence in teaching and learning.
Develop and deliver a forward-thinking curriculum that inspires creativity and aligns with national standards.
Foster a culture of high expectations and achievement among staff and students.
Promote extracurricular opportunities, such as art clubs, exhibitions, and competitions, to enrich students' learning experiences.
Manage departmental resources effectively, ensuring the highest quality teaching materials and facilities.
Provide professional development and mentorship to staff within the department.
Collaborate with senior leaders to embed creativity and design thinking across the school.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will:
Be an exceptional practitioner with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a proven track record of success in teaching Art and Design.
Demonstrate strong leadership skills, with experience of managing or mentoring colleagues.
Have a deep passion for art and design, with the ability to inspire and engage students across all key stages.
Be skilled in curriculum design and have a clear vision for developing the department further.
Be committed to promoting inclusion and equality in the classroom.
Have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day management.
