Position Overview:
The Group Quantity Surveyor will be a pivotal figure in our clients organisation, initially responsible for Assisting in Tenders while working on their current fire remediation projects across the country which are imminently starting, while also building and leading a team of estimators to support their ever-growing business. This role involves managing the commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to completion, collaborating closely with contracts managers and procurement team. Our clients goal is to establish a robust department to support the evolving needs of the group of businesses.
Estimation and Tendering:
Lead the completion of tenders alongside the estimating team on project upto £5m.
Analyse project plans, specifications, and documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Working with client contract administrators raising valuations and negotiating contract variations.Team Building and Leadership:
Recruit and build a team of estimators to support the group's growing needs.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to the surrounding departments and current team completing the tender processes.
Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.Commercial Management:
Oversee the commercial aspects of projects, from tender stage to project completion.
Collaborate with contracts managers and procurement to ensure efficient project execution.
Conduct cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Evaluate risks and uncertainties associated with project costs.Client and Stakeholder Interaction:
Engage with clients, developers, and management companies to clarify project requirements and address inquiries.Departmental Development:
Collaborate with senior management to establish and expand the department.
Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives.
Implement best practices and industry standards.Qualifications:
Proven experience as a quantity surveyor, with a successful track record
Strong proficiency in construction estimating.
Excellent knowledge of construction contract administration and dealing with valuations and variations.Benefits:
