The purpose of the role is to lead the maintenance and development of Spire's commercial relationships with NHS Commissioners and NHS Providers at National, Regional and where applicable local levels. You will ensure as sector subject matter lead that the Executive Committee and management teams across Spire hospitals, clinics and community services are supported expert guidance and support to support the delivery of business objectives.As well as supporting effective NHS and Public Sector contracting across the UK, seeking to generate sustainable revenues to meet strategic requirements and generating the required operating profits.
Key Responsibilities
To include but not limited to:
Acting as functional lead to establish and maintain excellent relationships with Government, NHS, other Public Sector and Trade bodies (for example Independent Healthcare Partners Network) at National, Regional and where relevant local level.
Providing expert commercial and contracting advice and support to all functions and business units throughout Spire Healthcare to support achievement of NHS related Business objectives.
Guiding and supporting Spire hospitals, Clinics and Community Services to develop and maintain good working relationships with NHS Commissioners and NHS providers within each of their local markets in accordance with Spire's vision, mission, and values.
Supporting Spire hospitals and Clinics to negotiate, manage and maintain contracts with NHS Commissioners and NHS providers.
Ensuring, to the extent necessary, that the Spires' Hospital and Divisional Directors, colleagues and consultant partners are aware of and abide by all contractual obligations.
Leading a thorough and effective process to support participation in relevant NHS Frameworks and annual NHS contract renewals.
At contract renewals working to secure the most advantageous outcome for the company, both financially and administratively, but also ensuring that standards and quality of patient care and patient well-being are not compromised, and are continually improved.
Monitoring performance and contract revenues and work in consultation with other members of the Commercial, Operational and Finance teams to take any necessary remedial action.
Ensuring that any significant risks arising from contracts are communicated to the Group Partnerships Director and Chief Commercial Officer; and where appropriate Head of Risk or General Counsel and Group Company Secretary to ensure they are reviewed and managed appropriately.Key Requirements:
Educated to Degree standard or equivalent experience.
Well-developed commercial capabilities and drive.
Comprehensive and expert knowledge of the NHS and Public Healthcare industry and market.
Extensive experience of NHS and Public Sector commissioning, contracting and relationship management.
Demonstrable ability to manage and develop a network of key relationships at Executive level across the NHS and Public sectors.
Professional and cordial.
Exceptional problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities.
Ability to collaborate, create and implement solutions to business processes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, amenable with the ability to influence at all levels of a business.
Excellent presentation and project management skills.
Able to think and plan strategically, as well as lead and deliver functionally and operationally.

Proven ability to drive change, for proactively identifying and pursuing improvements and building resilient business performance.
